Final Fantasy XIV on the Playstation Network

News of the upcoming mmorpg to hit the Playstation 3, Final Fantasy XIV, has been buzzing around for quite a while now. It's the second attempt at an mmorpg on a console, from Square Enix, since FFXI. What the full set of features are for FFXIV are isn't known yet, but there are a couple of details as to what you can expect to be doing over the Playstation Network.

For one, Square Enix made it known that they are going to try and offer cross console and cross communication between consoles. So you'll be able to party with and interact with players on the PC, if you're playing on the Playstation 3, and vice versa. That's an essential feature, I think, because it allows you to bring two communities together. I know that I will personally be playing over the Playstation 3, while my friends don't have one and they may play over the PC instead. It's a nifty feature that many multiplayer games should make use of.

Final Fantasy XIV will also be featuring classes from the original game, but renamed. The human race will be called Hyuran, the Taru is called Lalafell, the Mithra is called Miqo'te, and the Galka is called Roegadyn. Then there are two subclasses for each, being the swordsmen, archer, enchanter, warlock, blacksmith, cook, gardener and fisherman. There are some odd sounding classes in this game, but it seems cool. It seems as if some of the classes are solely tailored towards making money and pushing the in-game economy, which is a cool feature. I know of a couple of mmorpg's that manage to do that task well, having in-game billionaires.

Final Fantasy XIV is set for a 2010 release on the Playstation 3 and PC. You will most likely have to pay a monthly subscription for it again, so if you need a way of getting Playstation Network funds for free, you should check my first post out.

Sega adding new game to the Playstation Network

For those of you who remember, Sega held a poll that allowed users to vote for which game to be released on the Playstation Network. The winning game was Earthworm Jim, and it was thought to be the end of it. But due to licensing issues, Earthworm Jim had to be removed from the polls.

But, the good news is, you will still be getting Earthworm Jim coming to all consoles, especially the Playstation Network. It's just that Sega had to remove Earthworm Jim from the poll, so there had to be a re-vote. So now, it's essentially like you'll be getting twice the classic games, instead of one like intended by Sega.

For those of you wondering who's leading in the polls right now, it's Toejam and Earl. Seems like nostalgia is causing most players to vote for that game, which is a bit of a disappointment to me. If anything, it seems like blind nostalgia, because that game is horrible in this day and age, in my opinion. There other games on that poll that deserved to be voted for as opposed to that game. It's a waste of money, I think, and I wouldn't pay for it if I were you. There are other classic games available on the Playstation Network that would be a much better use of your Playstation Network funds. But there are a lot of fans to this game, so if anything, you should check it out or look for a review.

If you need Playstation Network funds for free to be able to play Toejam and Earl, provided by Sega, you should read my first post.

Capcom Sets Ten Classics For Release on the Playstation Network

Capcom is no stranger when it comes to rereleasing their classic endeavors on the Playstation Network. They have devised a list of ten classics that is planned for release on the Playstation Network, and three of the titles are already rated so you can expect to see them soon. None have an announced release date or price, so those factors are still a mystery.

The ten titles are Megaman Powered Up, Dino Crisis, Capcom Classics Collection Reloaded, Powerstone Collection, Megaman Maverick Hunter X, Resident Evil 2, Darkstalkers Chronicle: The Chaos Tower, Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max, Resident Evil 3: Nemesis and Capcom Puzzle World.

Most of these titles were announced for release last month, actually, so some of you may know about this. However, one out of the ten titles is new, which is Capcom Puzzle World. I'm personally excited for the Megaman and Powerstone games. Powerstone was arguably one of the best fighting games available back in the day. It had in air fighting, destructible environments and more. It was the best and most popular fighting game in many arcades. Too bad it doesn't get any remakes, probably because competition is too tough.

Those are the titles slated for release on the Playstation Network, so keep your eyes peeled for them.

Brutal Legend Demo Coming To Playstation Network

EA has announced that the popular upcoming game Brutal Legends will be having a demo arriving to the Playstation Network on September 17th. For those of you unfamiliar with the game, it's basically a rock fan's Psychonauts, or that's what some say. Just more hardcore and with more action, arguably.

While that may be a bit of a stretch to say, it's a hyped game to say the least. Brutal Legends will have Jack Black voicing the main character, as you make your way through the beautifully rendered world. The game just oozes style amazingly, much expected by that developer. The game offers a lot of humor, which is pretty good on that part. Not like the corny jokes featured in most other games, it has well placed and relevant humor to say the least.

The game has visual cues to direct you on where to go in terms of direction. You are able to attack your enemies with your rigid axe or guitar, using spells even to put your enemies on fire or take them out simply. Not only that, but it features some multiplayer that isn't just some tacked on experience. It actually plays as a real time strategy game, where you control your rock groupies. In the fashion of a 4 vs 4 skirmish, it has received great reviews in terms of it's voice acting, humor, style and multiplayer. So it's definitely something to look into whether you're a rock fan or just a person looking to get some action in a game. So if you need some Playstation Network funds for free, for any possible future Brutal Legend dlc, you should read my first post.

Digital Comics Coming To Playstation Network

Hundreds of digital comics are making their way to the Playstation Network, as announced at the gamescom press conference earlier.

Sony announced the digital reader for the Playstation Portable, which will obviously allow readers to read comic books, and possibly books. Starting this December, you'll have access to over 1000 digital comics placed in the Playstation Store, on the PSP and MediaGo. Not just any comics, however, comics from some of the top publishers today including Marvel, bringing you hit titles such as Spiderman, X-men and more. You'll have the ability to view these titles on the go.

An additional comics tab will be added to the Playstation Store for the PSP, and the prices of the digital comics are yet to be known. But once the comic is downloaded, you'll be able to view it through your digital reader, being able to pan and zoom in to be able to get the best out of your purchased digital comic title. This is a good way of viewing comics, legally, for those of you who are comic fans who want to be able to easily view your comics on the go.

If you're a comic book fan, and a PSP owner and you're reading this, you should read my first post on how to get Playstation Network wallet funds for free, without giving away any of your account information.

Earthworm Jim Arriving To Playstation Network

Sega has been celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Sega Genesis recently. As a means of rewarding you, the players, they decided to give you the choice on which game they will decide to release, by voting on a poll. This poll included popular games like Earthworm Jim, Streets of Rage, and more. Well, Earthworm Jim dominated the polls, and it looks like we'll be seeing Earthworm Jim being sold on the Playstation Network soon enough.

It is not known at this point which version of the game, Earthworm Jim, will be sold on the Playstation Network, but we do know that it'll come one month after the Xbox Live release some time in the last quarter of 2009. For any of you vintage gamers, you should keep your eyes peeled for this release. If you're interested in this game, you should read my first post on getting Playstation Network wallet funds for free.
